Rikkomus tapahtui ensin, vasta rikos perusti heimon alkuperäisen sopimuksen. Rikos järkytti heimoa niin, että jälkikäteen sopimuksen katsottiin olleen voimassa “aina”. Tämä on loogisesti mieletöntä, mutta näin myyttinen alkuperusta toimii. Retrospektiivistä syyllisyyttä ei voi välttää kuten ei rikollista nautintoakaan.
